The art education department invites you to actively experience the exhibitions in the Kaiser Wilhelm Museum and in Haus Lange and Haus Esters: sensually, creatively, critically and dedicatedly.
The offerings available from the art education department are especially targeted to all visitors: families, children, adolescents, adults and people with disabilities. You are welcome to observe art, to consider and talk about art and even to work artistically yourself.
Visit the rooms of the art education department on the ground floor of the Kaiser Wilhelm Museum, take active part in weekend workshops, at guided tours for families, at KunstImPuls events or at our various holiday offerings.

25.05.2024 – 30.06.2024
Do Your Own Thing. Free Creativity and Cultural Participation in the Migration Society is a project of the Kunstmuseen Krefeld for children and young people between the ages of 5 and 18 in cooperation with numerous local and national partners. As in the previous year, the artistic projects again took place on site in the city districts, schools and youth centers: at Blumenplatz, at Kompass Primary School, at the Café Oje youth center, in the Hardenberg district with the open all-dayprogram at Mariannenschule, at the Romanian association Roeducatie e.V. and on a public meadow in Krefeld-Linn. One exception was the project with the international class at the Freiherrvom-Stein Schule, which moved its classroom to the museum once a week and worked with theInstitut Daz/DaF, University of Duisburg-Essen to promote language skills. The three projects that are now being presented in Studio 2 were also workshops that took placedirectly on site with children and young people. In photography, painting and performance, thegroups explored creatively themes and motifs thatthey encountered directly in their urban environment. In the course of the projects, theyalso got toknow the Kunstmuseen Krefeld as a public space. There they encountered works of art that inspired them for their own work.
